Wow, after many long months of coordinating, planning, and scouting the world for amazing prizes (ok, more like just the world wide web), I am proud to present to you the "Dear Santa, I Was Framed" 2012 Holiday Photo Contest! Before I start with the details, let's take a step back, remember when I told you all about how I wanted to do something a little different this holiday in the posting where I first announced the photo contest?! Well, I am still Black Friday free this year, WooHoo! As much as there are a million things I'd love to get, I think it is for the best that I didn't shop and used it to spend time with family and friends, enjoying and being thankful. I was tempted by many things…does online shopping count as Black Friday shopping if I technically didn't leave the house or my family to do it?! Hehe, just kidding! Though, I tried because I went online for some deals but somehow all the coupon codes I was trying for 3 different businesses weren't working for me!!! Plus, Honey tempted me big time on Thursday! Remember how Honey was the one that implemented Black Friday free tradition a couple years ago?! Well, on Thursday, he decided to pick up the Michaels ad and say to me, "Wow Honey, Michaels has a huge selection of craft storage and they are on sale for 50% off plus there was an extra 30$ off coupon!" So he tempted me, making me think we were going to hit up Michaels but then proceeded to say, "Oh I was just sayin'!" I can't say I was very happy about that! Doesn't he know that as a shopaholic trying to be Black Friday free, I can't look, think, or hear about the ads and deals?! He was dangling a carrot in front of me expecting me not to bite!!!! That should be a crime of being a cruel and unusual punishment! But it's Cyber Monday today…does shopping today count as still being Black Friday free?! I'll still try my best to not shop, though some deals are very tempting!
I decided to, in an effort to help us all including myself, look at the holidays through an eye of thankfulness, rather than be filled with stress, shopping, and getting super awesome deals, I decided to put together a Photo Contest. Through the Holiday Photo Contest, I would like for people to enjoy the small and sometimes overlooked things in their lives. All that from a Photo Contest?! Yup! I finally narrowed my million category choices down to just 4, aren't you proud of me?! Those four categories are, you ready for it?!

Take a look around you and start getting snappy with everything you see. Think outside the box and take pictures of people, places, things in black/white, sepia, color, etc. and choose your favorites for submission in each of the categories. But of course, we can't have a contest without amazing prizes and additional giveaways! There are over $1,400 in prizes up for grabs in this whole photo contest!
Don't despair if you think you won't be one of the 4 winners because if you enter in the photo contest, you will have a chance to win one of 7 bonus prizes for some randomly drawn winners!!!
Plus, there will be a voting contest and the top photo between all 4 photo categories will win a Voter's Choice Award prize! Submit a photo early on in the competition and Kangaroo Mama (me) will be featuring either a random pick or favorite pick every couple days from the 4 photo categories on her Facebook Page and that could help you get exposure for the Voter's Choice Award, which also comes with an awesome prize valued at $75! You will also be allowed to submit more than 1 photo so you don't have anything to lose submitting one earlier and another towards the end of the contest.

For the person that refers the most entrants in the photo contest of all 4 photo categories combined, they will be awarded with $15 Paypal cash. In order to be eligible, the person doing the referrals also needs to be participating in at least one photo category in the contest. There is a mandatory question on the Giveaway Tools form that entrants must fill out the name of who referred them so those will be calculated at the end of the contest and announced in January!
